Generative AI is transforming how we interact with technology. Building software tools with large language models (LLMs) requires both new engineering skills and an appreciation of how AI works under the hood. This tutorial begins with a high-level introduction to generative AI, language models, and the transformer breakthrough that powers today’s LLMs. Then we’ll shift from concepts to practice with a short, hands-on coding session. No prior AI experience is required—just bring your curiosity and readiness to code together.
