CMD-IT is excited to announce the 2026 CMD-IT/ACM Richard Tapia Celebration of Diversity in Computing Conference, taking place on September 16-18 in Atlanta, Georgia. The Tapia program will include an engaging career fair to provide career opportunities, technical sessions about current technologies such as GenAI and cybersecurity, professional development opportunities, panel discussions that present different perspectives, birds-of-a-feather sessions to build communities, and workshops to provide hands-on experience. We will also continue to have a GenAI Hackathon for students to tackle some exciting challenge problems from our supporters.
Tapia 2025 was a great success with 1000 attendees and 70 supporters from corporate, academic, and nonprofit sectors. Our first GenAI Hackathon was organized with 100 students, and our student poster competition had 26 students participate. The Tapia 2025 program included 75+ panels, workshops, tech talks, birds-of-a-feather sessions, featuring 150+ speakers.
