What is the LEAP Alliance?
The Diversifying Leadership in the Professoriate (LEAP) Alliance is a program that aims to diversify future leadership in the computing professoriate at research universities, with a focus on underrepresented communities. The LEAP Alliance brings together four cohorts of universities, each with common strengths and a shared agenda to increase diversity in the computing professoriate. These cohorts cover undergraduate and graduate students and specifically target the following underrepresented communities: African Americans, Hispanics, Native Americans/Indigenous Americans, and People with Disabilities. The alliance consists of 28 universities.
REU Program Opportunities @ LEAP Institutions
Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) programs are designed to enrich undergraduate students with a full-time experience participating in different phases of research. Most REU opportunities include a stipend and other funding such as travel, meals, and housing. Students are able to have an engaging and exciting experience while demonstrating research potential and expanding their resumes. Many of the LEAP institutions host REU programs. Below are the REU programs for which applications are still being accepted. Please see the October CMD-IT webinar for additional details about undergraduate research.
